Wild Elephant Valley

The Han Dai and the Dai minorities are first on your list after breakfast. In Mengyang you visit villages where these two very different minorities live. They are both descendants of the traditional Dai, but both have their own dialects, constumes, traditions and architectural style.

It's more than just elephants! You are on your way to the Wild Elephant Valley, to spot also birds and butterflies from the forest's canopy. From a few meters above the ground, you don't disturb the elephants and you have a good view. There are around 300 elephants left in this area. This protected site was created in 1996. The elephant school at this site features daily three shows in which the animals display their skills.

We will pick you up after you had breakfast in your accommodation in Jinghong. We are heading to Mengyang and the Wild Elephant Valley. Afterwards, you head back to Jinghong with your private car. If you wish to be brought to another destination, please let is know. We can make arrangements.
