Golden Sand River and the Tiger Leaping Gorge

- The first bend of the Yangtze River; Jinsha Jiang and the Tiger Leaping Gorge -

The First Bend of the Yangtze River. That's what you first experience on your way - by car - to the Tiger Leaping Gorge. This upper part of the river is actually referred to as Jinsha Jiang, what means Golden Sand River. Then, in the small town Qiaotao you will enter the Gorge. Already from the parking area, you will have a splendid view on the wild part of the river and the huge mountains that together form the Gorge. A stair leads you down to the river, but keep in mind that it are in total 440 steps down and up again. In the middle of the smallest section of the river there is a big rock. It is told that at this point a chased tiger escaped a hunter by jumping over the river.
Afterwards, you return to Lijiang to visit the Black Dragon Pool Park.

Our driver will pick you up  in your accommodation in Lijiang. He will be waiting for you after breakfast. Before you know, you're on your way to the Yangtze River and the Tiger Leaping Gorge. Once you are back in Lijiang, you will visit the Black Dragon Pool Park before you're dropped in your hotel in Lijiang.
